The story of a resident of the city of Taldykorgan Zhiger Abrakhmanov. On January 7, 2022, at about 11 a.m., police officers detained Zhiger Abdrakhmanov, for going for a walk, took away his phone and ID and took him to the Police Department, where Zhiger was beaten for 14 hours,
including with rifle butts on the head. He was called obscene language. He was injured and diagnosed with a craniocerebral injury, a broken rib. The police officers wanted him to give false evidence against himself. On January 10, 2022, when they went to the hospital, they saw Azamat Batyrbaev, and, as Zhiger says, there was no living place on Azamat’s body. The prosecutor’s office had not responded to Zhiger’s complaint about the beatings at the interview. In this way, medieval practices are “eradicated” – torture and beatings, ignoring, delaying investigations, without bringing the perpetrators to justice?
