Abdulkhapar Orazgali

19-year-old marathon runner-up, winner of numerous competitions, Abdukhapar Orazgali, was fatally wounded in the leg in early January 2022. He moved out of China in August 2021 and only recently received Kazakh citizenship. He wanted to glorify Kazakhstan with his sporting achievements. The exact date, where, how, and under what circumstances he was injured is unknown. Relatives found his body in the morgue only on January 11, 2022, and fear that he may be recorded as a “terrorist.” Authorities have yet to release a list of those killed during and after the January protests. The authorities have already moved away from the original propaganda rhetoric about “20,000 foreign terrorists”, but this was the reason for inviting the Putin/CSTO military to help suppress the protests and shoot peaceful people. Abduhapar’s brother Orazgali is correct in his statement that “there must be an answer for the death of innocent people.”
