On August 1, 2022, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan reported the progress of the January events:

3 .More than 35 thousand consequences and 2500 examinations were carried out.
4 .Damage was compensated for 343 million tenge.
5 .474 criminal cases were sent to the court.717 people were convicted.92 people received real prison terms.
At the same time, lists of killed, wounded and detained are still not published.After almost 7 months, the authorities did not even publish official lists of 238 people of the dead (232 received fatal firearms and 6 killed as a result of torture).
The authorities do not conduct an objective and transparent investigation.Instead, the authorities pursue the political reasons for activists, human rights activists, peaceful protesters and even random people who did not participate in protests (for example, people who received firearms).The courts are held on express format, without evidence, with an indictment.
The authorities do not conduct an objective and transparent investigation into torture.For 7 months, only 9 people were taken under the arrest in the fact of torture.Evidence (video, registration logs) is not provided and/or destroyed. The lines are not recognized as suspects and do not even take the arrest of those who are identified by victims of torture.For the requirements of an independent international investigation, the authorities are pursuing victims of torture, like Kosai Makhanbetov, who was repeatedly sent to the SIZ-18 Almaty, where he was tortured in January 2022.
The authorities paid compensation to the victims of executions or their families selectively, so that people were silent and do not demand a fair investigation.For example, Daulet Mukhazhanov from the city of Semey was injured in the spine and now cannot go.He needs treatment abroad to get the opportunity to go over.He did not receive compensation even for treatment.Here is the reality of the “New Kazakhstan”.
