Dauir Tileubergenov

On January 5, Dauir went to a peaceful rally. He was wounded after being at the square for 15-20 minutes. A grenade exploded right in front of him as he was dragging a wounded young man.

A splinter crushed one of the testicles of the scrotum and pierced the pelvis. He lost consciousness and was taken to Hospital No. 12. They did surgery there.

Esengeldy Tileubergenov:

“On January 8, 2022, my son was beaten by several masked men and taken away from the hospital. About 20-25 people were brought to the detention center by car.

Dauir said that he was beaten, kicked, denied food and water, and was not allowed to urinate for two days in jail. They urinated on themselves and slept on the concrete floor for two days.

We couldn’t find our son; we couldn’t find any information anywhere. A lawyer was hired, and only he found our son on January 14, 2022. We were not allowed in the detention center. We appealed to the prosecutor’s office, and there they permitted us to visit ……

When meeting in the detention center, the son asked not to say anything when they were carrying food. He said that everything was being recorded there.

We managed to release our son on his own recognizance.”
