Civic activist and father of two daughters, Nurlybek Atauollin (born 1975, a resident of Trekino, Imanov St.h.48A ), tells how he was illegally arrested for two days for pseudo violating the law on peaceful assemblies: “I am a civil activist from Uralsk Atauollin Nurlybek married, has two daughters. On January 5, 2022, policemen Baikenov Arman, Vladimir Bezyanov, and two other officers pushed my daughter away when she opened the door for them. Four of them broke into the house without presenting the relevant documents and forcibly took me away. The policemen said that the chief ordered them. My daughter was terrified. Employees held me without reason for about 12 hours and released me at about 10 am. On January 14, the police officers brought the summons and detained me again. On that day, I was convicted for participating in a peaceful rally under article 488, part 6. Prosecutor Muratov requested 15 days of arrest, but the judge issued a warrant for arrest for two days. I spent two days under arrest in the isolation ward without violating any laws. Human rights are not respected in Kazakhstan. In connection with the violation of my rights, I ask the European Parliament and international human rights organizations to conduct an independent international investigation. There is no democracy in Kazakhstan; everyone who tries to object is arrested, before each rally, outside the house is under surveillance.”

We don’t forget you! Justice wins!
