Madi Temirgaliuly Zhumabek

I am Kuzhekova Balzhan Arystangalievna born in 1960, I live in Aktobe. My son Zhumabek Madi Temirgaliuly, born in 1995, participated in a peaceful protest on January 5, 2022.

On January 14 at 8:00 a.m., my son was taken from the house by police officers. For the third month, my son has been held in custody in a pre-trial detention center; he is accused under Article 269 part 2 (“Attack on buildings, structures committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy”).

My son is innocent; he is not a criminal! He didn’t have a gun in his hands; he didn’t hit anyone; he went to the rally alone.

Zhumabek is the only breadwinner in the family; my husband Kozhekov Temirbek is a disabled person of the 1st disability group, bedridden for eight years. I myself am a pensioner.

Our only son is the breadwinner in the family; he also cared for his seriously ill father. Except for my son, I have no one else.
