Political persecution of lawyer Adilkhan Adilhazievich Bedenbayev, the father of four children, the youngest is one and a half years old.

On January 11, 2022, police officers illegally detained Bedenbayev Adilkhan. Since then, his family has not been allowed to visit him. He only managed to inform the lawyer and family members that he was beaten. Whether the beatings continue to this day is unknown.

Bedenbayev Adilkhan himself did not participate in the peaceful protests in Kyzylorda. He was at home with his family during the days of protests. During the protest days, his car was stolen because he lives with his family near the place where the protests took place. He filed a police report. The police told him that the car was in the parking lot and that he could pick it up, but on January 11, he was detained. It is also reported that in the glove compartment of his car “found” a map and drawings of the prison building. A politically motivated criminal case was probably opened (or will be opened) against him.

Bedenbayev Adilkhan reports that these are not his maps and drawings – they could have been planted when the car was stolen. His family links his political persecution with the fact that he criticized the police and the prosecutor’s office of Kyzylorda as a lawyer, and now the authorities are politically persecuting him, hiding behind an “anti-terrorist operation.”

More and more facts of political persecution are revealed not only by activists, human rights defenders, peaceful demonstrators, and ordinary people who did not participate in the protests but also by lawyers.

Publicity is an effective method of protecting human rights in political persecution. Send us information in our telegram bot if you or your acquaintances are persecuted for political reasons in connection with the past peaceful protests in Kazakhstan.
